"This restaurant is a throwback of sorts, with a traditional menu in a traditional setting adorned with lots of pictures/photos paying homage to the nearly La Scala. We ended up here because all of the other top restaurants in the area were closed for the holidays, but we didn't regret it at all. Food isn't cutting edge, but extremely well done, and the service was fantastic without being intrusive. This is a place for a romantic dinner, or one where you want to linger at the table without being rushed. Everything we had - appetizers, pasta, meat/fish and dessert - did the place justice. You could get a comparable meal in any major city, but you wouldn't be able to replicate the setting."
Tucked away down an alleyway next to a hotel is this wonderful little restaurant paying homage to the nearby La Scala. The restaurant is small and intimate with superb service. The food was excellent especially the saffron risotto and the Gorgonzola ravioli. Well worth a visit.
"My wife and I went to had a dinner at the end of October. We have been welcomed by very kind personnel. The restaurant was very elegant and all around we were breathing the atmosphere of the Old Milan, with paintings and old images of the "La Scala" Theater, and of the main classic music composers, writers and other top celebrities. The dinner was delicious; we chose the truffle menu proposal, from the main course to the dessert and it was really excellent. The waiter suggested us the right glass of wine for each dishes. The price was according to the place and the quality of the dinner and the service, however, not so expensive. If you want to feel cuddled, Don Carlos is the right place."
"We spent such a delightful moment at Don Carlos. A very quality service, an amazing food between tradition and modernity. The atmosphere is traditional and classy : this place is out of time ! You have to have dinner there if you’re coming to Milano. Don’t hesitate."
"It's always a pleasant surprise when you can enjoy an exquisite dining experience, especially when it's a creative approach to your favorite traditional dishes. Veal Milanese is something I love and have eaten literally all over the world - but never better. Extra crispy on the outside but plump and juicy inside! I have had Ravioli thousands of times, but this squid ink handmade pasta stuffed with cod and served in a mussel sauce was incredible! This was all complimented with a wine list that stretched from Lombardy to Sardinia. To finish this experience you will enjoy impeccable service. We went back twice in 5 days!"
